President Nicolás Maduro announces the creation of a Special Fund for the attention of rainfalls

During the presentation to the country of a balance due to the impact of the recent rains in different regions of the national territory, the Head of State Nicolás Maduro announced the activation of a Special Fund for the attention of rainfalls:

“I am establishing a special fund for emergency care for the rainfalls, of 10 million renewable Bolívars”, he stressed.

From Miraflores Palace, accompanied by the sectoral vice presidents and ministers of the security area, the national president reported that they have carried out an evaluation “of the phenomenon that has occurred in regions such as the Andes, with atypical rains: the water came earlier, after an intense drought”, he said.

He added that this unusual situation is due to the La Niña phenomenon and the conditions generated by climate change in the world:

“We are being victims of climate change that has accumulated for almost a century as a result of a destructive and voracious model,” he emphasized.

Caracas affected:

In this regard, President Maduro indicated that only in Caracas, on Monday, the amount of rain was higher than what usually falls in a whole month, “300% more water than average”.

We have reported landslides and floods throughout the country and we have not abandoned the people, that is the order. To protect our people. The rains are brutal, we have to multiply our capacity for action by 10”, he instructed.

Similarly, President Maduro ordered the full availability of firefighters, civil protection and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to care for the population.
