President Nicolás Maduro: The independence of this century is economic

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, assured this Wednesday that “Venezuela is not going to be a political, legal or economic colony of another country”, since it is heading towards its independence in all these areas and also in scientific and technological matters.

The Head of State assured, at the opening ceremony of the Goat and Sheep Expo-Fair “Miranda 2022”, he stressed that “the independence of this century, which guarantees the social rights, equality and happiness of the people, is the economic one”, and for this reason he insisted in the need to continue advancing in the 18 engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda:

The independence of the 21st century is economic, it is scientific, it is technological. We have political independence, we are free, we are not kneeling or subject to anyone in this world,” he said, reiterating that “thanks to this political sovereignty, we can draw up our own public policies without being subjected to the blackmail of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), we are free to decide,” he added.

Diversification of the economy:

In this context, he pointed out that contrary to what they wanted to achieve, the coercive and illegal measures imposed by the United States and its allies made it possible to accelerate the process of overcoming the oil rentier economy that was established in the country for 100 years.

He explained that this reaction of the organized people and the policies developed by the National Government have allowed “a new diversified economy of virtuous cycles to produce food, goods, services, energy to begin to emerge”.

(I what the) Nobel Prize in Economics for Venezuela, I ask for the Nobel Prize for the producers, working men and women for the miraculous recovery after being subjected to criminal bombing by the North American empire and Europe,” he said.
