President Nicolás Maduro held meeting with cultors from all over Venezuela

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting on Tuesday with the cultors and practitioners of various Venezuelan cultural manifestations, a day during which he recognized the increase in the country’s festive cycles in recent years.

During the meeting, held at Miraflores Palace, he stated that “Venezuelan cultural manifestations have reached the top of the world”.

In this sense, and in order to promote Venezuelan cultural manifestations to the peoples of the planet, he instructed to articulate the necessary programs so that they travel the world, as requested by Venezuelan cultors.

For their part, the cultivators delivered a report to the Head of State in which they raised a series of requests in order to consolidate the national culture.

Among these actions, they urge the establishment of tasks and responsibilities of cultural movements, as well as an adjusted legal framework to give legality to cultural processes.

They proposed that the achievements of the manifestations and festive cycles of the Venezuelan culture, which have been internationally recognized, be socialized with the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

The head of state stressed that the document reinforces the cultural policy that has been developed in the national government: “If something characterizes our way of speaking, it is culture, so it must be increasingly assumed responsibly because from there we recognize the roots of what we are as a people”, he said.

He also indicated that these proposals come to strengthen work ties and set the tone for the State’s cultural policy, in view of the objectives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

He stressed that the Venezuelan cultural movement must be assumed with conscience, in reference to the Bolivarian Revolution for its impact in this century. “It led us to recognize the roots,” he said.

Likewise, he urged Governors and Mayors to increase the investment that guarantees cultural expression in all corners of the country:

We must also include the 3R.nets as the path of the new Venezuela in the cultural sphere. The Resistance, the Renaissance and the Revolution”, he concluded.
