President Nicolás Maduro: “Do Govern sincerely, always together with the people”

With the aim of making Caracas a “more humane, patriotic, beautiful, safe and functional city, the best capital in America!” President Nicolás Maduro urged Carmen Meléndez, new mayor of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality of Caracas, to change whatever is necessary to change and to always govern “sincerely, always with the people.”

This was expressed this Thursday by the National President during the swearing-in ceremony of the elected mayor of the Libertador municipality in Caracas, held at the Bolívar Theater in the capital city.

To do this, he instructed the new mayor of the country’s capital to articulate plans in priority areas to improve the quality of life of Caracas, such as health care, emphasizing the network of outpatient clinics: “Let there not be a single outpatient clinic closed, get all activated outpatient clinics, CDI, SRI activated”.

Likewise, he ordered the improvement of public transportation in Caracas: “up in the neighborhoods and deep in the neighborhoods, on the avenues and streets”.

For this, he proposed to the Mayor and Head of Government of Caracas to improve all stations and areas of the Caracas Metro:

Let’s go with the Metro, in conjunction with the Governor of Miranda, with the Mayor of Sucre, let’s put functional all the lines of the Caracas Metro, its stations. The Metro belongs to all residents of Caracas!” emphasized Maduro.

1 × 10: basis of the new government management:

Likewise, the Head of State urged Mayor Carmen Meléndez to turn 1 × 10 into a social-governmental machine that provides solutions to the people’s problems:

To make an intelligent government through 1 × 10. Not to deactivate it as we normally do”, he pointed out, while urging to increase to 100,000 the number of activists of the 1 × 10, a system implemented by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) during the electoral processes.

The objective, he explained, is “to govern by consulting the people in the main tasks”, strengthening it at the regional and municipal level.

“From a good electoral apparatus, the 1 × 10 must become a social-governmental machinery to govern with all citizens of Caracas, by permanently informing and consulting them”, he emphasized.

He assured that this public management methodology will allow the dissemination of alerts, as well as denounces related to situations that merit the intervention of municipal and national authorities.
