Maduro: US conspires against Sunday’s mega-elections in Venezuela

This Tuesday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced that the US State Department “is conspiring” against the regional and municipal elections of November 21:

A spokesman for the US State Department has already come out today to declare against the free and sovereign elections in Venezuela. He is pitiful, it is a shame the way how he intends to interfere in internal affairs and disqualify the elections that are being prepared”, he rejected.

The head of state asked to repudiate US interventionist declarations against Venezuelan democracy, as well as to support the electoral system:

“Faced with this aggression, I call on all Venezuelans to get prepared early on Sunday (we are at just) five days and a beautiful sunrise, and we are all going to vote for peace and the future, for prosperity”, he said.

In this context, the national president urged all candidates “to play fair and respect the results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE)”.

Given the information published by international media that highlights the statements of the Joseph Biden administration in which they advance that the so-called Venezuelan mega-elections “will be manipulated”, he emphasized that “Washington conspires against the emancipatory processes of Latin America” such as those being lived by the progressive peoples of Nicaragua, Cuba and Bolivia.
