The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, posthumously awarded on Sunday the Order of Liberators of Venezuela in its first class to the governor of La Guaira state, G / J Jorge Luís García Carneiro.

In the Burning Chapel held at the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army (AMEB), the national president gave this recognition to the wife of the distinguished patriot, María del Valle de García, after rendering the corresponding honors.

In his eulogy, President Maduro emphasized that “Jorge Luís García Carneiro is and will be a Chavista leader, a humanist, the best Governor of Venezuela, an example of love for the people and closeness to the humble ones”.

“His thought and loyalty were fundamental so that Chávez could create the new strategic doctrine,” he added.

Regarding his work and political leadership, Maduro assured that according to the most recent studies, “García Carneiro was the governor with the most support, the best valued in the entire country, he was going to be re-elected in La Guaira with a torrent of votes. Undefeated, he re-founded the state of La Guaira. Did he do it from a desk? No, he went to walk around the neighborhoods and to accompany his people”.

Maduro affirmed that for this reason, “García Carneiro has the blessings of the people of La Guaira, for his political, social and humanist work and that is why today the people of La Guaira bids him farewell with tears and with love for his Governor.”

Loyalty and humility

He also highlighted the legacy of García Carneiro who he considered “not only was he loyal to Commander Chávez, he inspired me when he humbly told me “My Commander in Chief”.

Bidding farewell to an exceptional human being such as García Carneiro has been a hard blow, it seems that life has been made difficult by the blows received: “Chino” Khan, Darío Vivas, the loss of professor Aristóbulo Istúriz and now that of Carneiro. We can only reaffirm ourselves in his example and in his being, to continue taking the steps that we have to take in this life”, he commented.
