“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela vigorously rejects the new aggressive intentions of the Government of Colombia against the sovereignty and peace of the Republic.
Mr. Iván Duque has turned Colombia into a great paramilitary camp, a den of terrorists, from which the most horrendous crimes against Venezuela are planned.
We have witnessed with amazement the shameless way how the Government of Colombia has allowed all kinds of crimes from its territory against our country, including the attempted assassination of the Constitutional President of the Republic, as well as the military and political high command of the Venezuelan Revolution, the perpetration of mercenary incursions, the placement of explosive devices (the most recent, the attempted placement of three bombs against the Venezuelan legislative power) and all kinds of harmful actions of our territory, against our Government and the tranquility of the country.
Now we notice how once again they try with the greatest impudence to reissue the file of false positives in which, it has been shown to the whole world, they are experts: they attack Venezuela with crude fabrications, lies and slander. They don’t have a day of rest in their aggressive and brutal strategy, they do it with total impudence; In this way, they establish an atrocious display of cynicism, coming these attacks from the main cocaine producer in the world, according to the United Nations World Drug Report, and in the case of a country in which, as a result of the errors of its governments more than 10 million Colombians have been affected by the internal warfare, which has left more than 262,197 murdered people, more than 60,630 forced disappearances and only between 2016 and 2020 were murdered 1,517 social leaders, according to the report made by the Observatory of Memory and Conflict of Colombia.
The Legislative Power of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela demands from Ivan Duque and his government the immediate cessation of their new violent and warmongering intentions against our country and to immediately stop their interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela.
For the people of Colombia our words of solidarity and encouragement; as well as our best wishes for his government, once, to attend to the dire state in which it has plunged them, including the indolent handling it has had to face the Covid 19 pandemic in the sisterly nation.
We reiterate our call to respect the self-determination of the peoples and the unwavering decision to maintain Latin America as a territory of peace.
