Venezuela calls sentence authorizing illegal sale of Citgo shares in the U.S. a legal aberration

This Saturday, the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, described as a legal aberration the sentence of the Federal Court for the District of Delaware, in the United States (USA), which authorizes the illegal sale of Citgo shares:

“The Attorney General of the Republic has been prevented, along with his team, from exercising the defense in the courts of the United States; if they had allowed him to do so, this juridical aberration would not have occurred,” affirmed the Venezuelan Diplomat upon fixing the position of the Bolivarian nation on the illegitimate decision.

In that sense, he assured that this “procedural fraud” intends to take away from the Venezuelan people the main asset they have abroad to receive income from oil production.

Likewise, he pointed out that the illegal appropriation of Citgo has been forged under the instructions of ex-deputy Juan Guaidó and executed by Mr. José Ignacio Hernández, both fugitives from the Venezuelan justice.

“Venezuela denounces and rejects the actions of the Government of Donald Trump, in complicity with Venezuelan extremists, who have committed transnational crimes with the purpose of appropriating the assets of the country and its entities worldwide,” he stated.

On the same vein, he warned the international community of the danger these maneuvers aimed at confiscating foreign private assets through procedural frauds represent for foreign investments and companies in the United States.

Finally, Chancellor Arreaza affirmed that Venezuela will continue defending its interests abroad for the good of all Venezuelans.
