The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the overwhelming majority of deputies of the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP), elected in the historic parliamentary elections in December, began the debate in Miraflores Palace on the impulse of the Law of the Communal Power within Plan 200, which will contain the legislative agenda for the next two hundred days of the new National Assembly (AN), to be installed on January 5, 2021.
“Welcome to the House of the People’s Power, Miraflores. The concept of People’s Power, of creating and building the power of Venezuelans”, stated the Head of State from the Presidential Palace, when holding the first meeting and workshop with the 253 parliamentarians of the GPP elected on DEC-6 and the 3 indigenous people elected on DEC-9 through uses and customs of the original peoples of Venezuela, for an unprecedented total of 256 legislators out of the 277 that will make up the new Legislative Power.
He reported that one of the first laws to be introduced to the debate on January 5 is the Communal Parliament Act, “to build that immense People’s Power at the legislative, parliamentary, political and institutional level.”
“If you ask me what is the most important thing, please engrave it on your hearts, it is articulation with the people, listening to the people, accompanying them in their struggles, coming and going, consulting everything with the people, building a system of consultation and participation with the people in everything the new National Assembly does,” he explained to the group of deputies in the gardens of Miraflores, with the sanitary biosafety measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He showed the document with Plan 200, which is being prepared for the legislative agenda of the Bicentennial year of the Carabobo Campaign, “And we are going to perfect it, polish it. A Plan that takes as its voice, its point of support, of momentum, the installation of the NA on January 5, 2021. It begins on January 5 with the new NA and starts the revolutionary counteroffensive for the entire Bicentennial year, with spirit anew”.
The National President considered that the electoral campaign to elect the new AN was a successful exercise of unity between the PSUV and the 8 parties of the GPP, which should be the basis for the work to be carried out in favor of the Venezuelan people from the National Parliament.
