As part of the electoral schedule for the parliamentary elections scheduled for December 6, the National Electoral Council (CNE) begins this Monday and until Friday, November 27, training the Regional Electoral Boards in terms of totalization, adjudication and proclamation throughout the entire country.
The activity, in charge of the National Electoral Board and the National Office of Subaltern Electoral Bodies, responds to the provisions of Article 112 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes (Lope) which makes the CNE responsible for training the selected citizens to provide the electoral service in the process.
According to official reports from the CNE, the electoral schedule for the 2020 parliamentary elections is being fully met, with the aim of guaranteeing a democratic process in which 20,710,421 voters will choose the new deputies.
In this electoral process, 14,400 candidates from 107 organizations with political purposes, 277 seats of the AN are disputed; 98 opposition, 30 of national scope, 53 regional, 6 national indigenous organizations and 18 regional.
The electoral campaign will culminate on December 3. In this sense, public acts for political and indigenous organizations are subject to the current bio-sanitary regime to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
