The election of indigenous representatives to the National Assembly (AN) will be held on December 9, as informed the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Indira Alfonzo.
Alfonzo stressed that the “electoral schedule has been developed satisfactorily” and that to date they have carried out four of the 16 audits. This Tuesday she met with representatives of the media.
Earlier, the campaign’s regulations were published in Electoral Gazette No. 964. Campaign activities will begin on November 3 and will continue until December 3 at 00:00 midnight.
In relation to this, Alfonzo said that they will provide all the country’s media with the necessary material for the selection process of indigenous representatives, in accordance with the regulations.
On the other hand, she urged to maintain a balance in the coverage of the different electoral proposals and to encourage participation, as well as compliance with biosecurity measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.
