COVID: Venezuela reports 1,061 cases totaling 54,350 infections

The Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that in the last 24 hours have been reported a total of 1,009 new cases of community transmission and 52 imported cases. With these figures, the country accumulates 54,350 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

She explained that the highest number of national cases was detected in Aragua state, with 312, specifically in 16 of the 18 municipalities of the entity. Then follows Caracas with 166, Bolívar 93 and Miranda 87 cases.

Regarding the imported cases, she said that 46 entered through Colombia, and 6 from Brazil.

She regretted the death of eight new Venezuelans from the virus, for a total of 436 fatalities. Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also indicated that a total of 43,753 cases have recovered after receiving free treatments, which is equivalent to 81 percent of the cases.

This was announced on Monday by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, during a phone call to Venezolana de Television at the end of the daily meeting of the Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19 in Caracas.

Regarding the community cases, she described that they were concentrated in: Aragua state: 312 new cases in 16 of the 18 municipalities, Capital District: 166 new cases in 21 of the 22 parishes of the capital city, Bolívar: 93 new cases, Miranda: 87 new cases, Barinas: 81 new cases, Nueva Esparta: 70 new cases, Yaracuy: 61 new cases, Guárico: 28 new cases, Portuguesa: 26 new cases, La Guaira: 20 new cases, Sucre: 13 new cases, Carabobo: 11 new cases, Falcón: 10 new cases, Mérida: 9 new cases, Trujillo: 8 new cases, Lara: 6 new cases, Apure: 4 new cases, Zulia: 2 new cases, Cojedes: 2 new cases.

Additionally, Delcy Rodríguez highlighted that up to date there are 10,161 active cases, of which 7,718 are asymptomatic, 1,651 have mild acute respiratory failure, 681 have moderate acute respiratory failure and 111 are in serious condition and admitted to Intensive Care Units.

A total of 6,297 are admitted into hospitals, 3,631 into Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and only 233 are in private clinics.

For her part, Rodríguez also regretted reporting the death of eight people due to the Covid-19 infection in the last hours, which raises the number of fatalities to 436. The deaths occurred: two in Nueva Esparta: Two men, 67 years old and 51 years old; a 50-year-old man from the Capital District, a 79-year-old man from Bolívar state; a 75-year-old woman from Táchira state; a 68-year-old man from Carabobo; a 64-year-old woman from Mérida and an 88-year-old man from Anzoátegui.
