The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, instructed on Wednesday to the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, and the Commander of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), Remigio Ceballos, to design new strategies for the protection of the peasant people.

The Venezuelan head of state indicated that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) should be part of the people and the country’s productive apparatus:

“We are going to protect the people, to defend the people,” expressed the National President from Miraflores Palace in Caracas, during a video conference with the country’s productive sectors.

“We are building the deep foundations of a Revolution. In every step we take, in building people’s power, in turning people’s power into the great productive force of the country. We are laying the foundations for a great economic and social revolution, and they should feel part of something big that transcends their own conuco (small farm), state”, stressed the Venezuelan leader.

On several occasions, President Nicolás Maduro affirmed the importance of working the land and the countryside, in order to overcome the economic situation the country is going through as a result of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
