Venezuela rejects illegal actions of Trump’s administration against TSJ

This Tuesday the Government of Venezuela rejected the recent action taken by the administration of the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, against the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and its President, Maikel Moreno, based on false accusations.

Through a statement issued this Tuesday night by the Venezuelan Chancellory, the text emphasizes the grotesque attitude that runs contrary to international law, under coercive measures and the policy by the US government of being the world’s police.

“Just in the style of the Wild West cowboys, it disrespects the Supreme Court of Justice and its President”, added Chancellor Jorge Arreaza on the Twitter network, and content in the document.

Earlier, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a $ 5 million reward order for supplied information regarding the president of the country’s highest court.

“I am going to announce a reward under the Transnational Organized Crime Program of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Venezuelan citizen Maikel José Moreno Pérez”, pointed out the secretary of state in a statement.

Following, the full text of the Venezuelan Chancellory Communiqué:

“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela once again rejects the illegal and coercive actions of the Donald Trump government against the Venezuelan people and its constitutional institutions. This time they disrespect the Supreme Court, in the person of its president, Maikel Moreno, through false accusations and the offer of rewards in the fashion of cowboys from the far, wild west.

The people of the United States deserves a government that stands out for respecting international law, not for violating it. A government that establishes ties for its capacity for dialogue and not for wasteful military spending. It deserves institutions that are dedicated to solving the serious problems of their society, including a justice system that focuses, for example, on determining the truth and the responsibilities of politicians and businessmen involved in the aberrations of the scandalous Epstein case.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces to the international community the obsessive persecution, by the US ruling elite, against the Venezuelan government and people, fabricated on false premises and accusations. The Venezuelan State will enforce national and international laws. This new act of aggression will be added to the file against US officials that Venezuela has submitted to the International Criminal Court.”
