Venezuela reports 211 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and three deceased

The vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported on Thursday that in the last 24 hours the country reports 157 new community contagion cases, 54 international cases and three deaths by Covid-19, for 211 cases today.

She detailed in the report that the 11 states in the country that registered outbreaks due to the pandemic are Zulia, Sucre, Yaracuy, Capital District, Miranda, Aragua, Táchira, Monagas, Anzoátegui and Carabobo, where strict sanitary measures are maintained in order to break the virus expansion chain.

“Of the 157 community cases, 54 cases are from Zulia state, 33 of them from the focus of the Flea Market, 21 are in the municipalities of Perijá, Machiques, Mara, Baralt and Catatumbo”, she said through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión.

Rodríguez stated that in other states such as Sucre, are counted 30 cases: “In the Municipal Market of Cumaná we have evaluated the immediate and early measures due to a focus of seven cases linked to the fish processing plant, we are acting”, she said.

Meanwhile, the vice president explained that 20 new cases were reported in Carabobo state, 11 from a public service company, four in the Libertador municipality, one in Miranda, one in Diego Ibarra and four in Montalban: “There is a particular case in Mariara, a woman who returned to the country through (illegal) trails in Apure state, and arrived infected”, she said.

In the case of Yaracuy state, it registered 14 cases in total, 10 in the Bruzual municipality, two in Guama and two in San Felipe; she (also) detailed that in the Capital District were reported 12 new patients, in the Coche, Catia, Altagracia, El Junquito, El Paraíso, El Recreo, El Valle, La Vega and San Agustín parishes.

In Miranda state there are nine cases, Táchira registered eight, Bolívar four, Aragua and Monagas two, and Anzoátegui registered a new Covid-19 positive case.

Delcy Rodríguez indicated that there are 54 imported cases, 35 coming from Colombia, including 18 that entered through Táchira state, 17 through Apure, seven cases from Brazil, two from Peru and one from Ecuador.

She regretted the adding ot three new deaths in the country: “This is an 83-year-old woman from Yaracuy, a 53-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, both from Zulia state, for a total of 57 deaths since the pandemic began in the country”, she stressed.

Finally, she highlighted that 11 patients are in intensive care and are in a moderate acute respiratory condition.

With these figures, Venezuela brings the total number of infections to 6,273 since the first cases of the virus were reported.
