President Maduro celebrates approval by the Holy See of miracle by José Gregorio Hernández

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated on Thursday the approval of one of the miracles performed by Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, which means a step for his beatification:

“I celebrate with joy that, after many years, the Vatican approves one of the many miracles of the Saint of the humble people, Dr. José Gregorio Hernández. It is, without a doubt, an important step for his beatification that fills Venezuelan men and women with joy”, wrote the Venezuelan head of state in his account on the Twitter social network.

Earlier, the Commission of Physicians of the Congregation for the causes of the Saints of the Vatican approved the miracle performed by Dr. José Gregorio Hernández to a girl from Apure state, Yaxury Solorzano, 13 years old.

The case was registered in 2017. Solorzano was wound in the brain by a gunshot. Her recovery was scientifically impossible, but by means of testimonies, medical and theological tests, was proven the miracle that today could be the cause of his beatification.

A total of 27 formal miracles have been returned by the Holy See, for not having a requirement.

Through her account on the Twitter social network, the Venezuelan journalist and correspondent at the Vatican, Marinellys Tremamunno, indicated that only remains the theological consultation and evaluation at the Plenary of Cardinals and Bishops, that will be carried out in the Holy See in the upcoming months

Hernández was a doctor, scientist, teacher and philanthropist with a deep religious vocation. He was born on October 26, 1864, in Isnotú, Trujillo state, in the Rafael Rangel municipality. His remains rest in the church of La Candelaria in Caracas.

The Venezuelan people have had years of struggle for the Catholic Church to include the doctor as blessed, for the countless miracles that many have testified.
