Venezuela repudiated interventionist statements by Federica Mogherini

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiated the statements issued by the spokeswoman for the High Representative of Foreign Policy of the European Union (EU) Federica Mogherini, regarding the entry of Venezuela into the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN), a fact registered last Thursday.
Through a statement, published on the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Venezuela invited European countries “to review their actions in the matter, especially when it comes to the excessive use of force to suppress public demonstrations typical of the convulsive situation that it is observed in Europe, as well as the use of justice systems for political purposes and the outrageous situation of migrants as a result of the war actions promoted by the Union itself in other brotherly continent ”.
Earlier, Mogherini expressed her “concern” about the election of Venezuela for the body – whose admission was supported by 105 countries of the UN General Assembly – as well as referred to the two reports submitted by the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the UN, Michelle Bachelet, in which she points out alleged human rights violations in the South American nation.

Venezuela rejects statements issued by the spokeswoman for the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela wishes to make public its rejection of the official statements issued by the spokeswoman for the High Representative of the Foreign Policy of the European Union (EU) Federica Mogherini, in which she expresses her concern about the election of Venezuela to the Council of Human Rights of the United Nations Organization (UN).
No demonstration against the legitimate election of our country to said Council may obscure the victory obtained with absolute adherence to the democratic norms of the United Nations, the highest multilateral organization to which, alike Venezuela, belong all the EU member states.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in line with its policy of promotion and respect for Human Rights, invites European countries to review their actions in this area, especially when it comes to the excessive use of force to repress public manifestations, proper of the convulsed situation that is seen in Europe, as well as the use of justice systems for political purposes and the outrageous situation of migrants as a result of the war actions promoted by the Union itself in other brotherly continents.
This victory of the Venezuelan Government and People means a commitment and emphasizes the joint work the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela makes with the International Community, which has largely placed its trust in the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela in matters of Human Rights”.
