The 21st Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF) began this Thursday, October 3, in Moscow, under the presidency of the Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Manuel Quevedo.
In this meeting participate the ministers of its 12 member countries: Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan, Iraq, Norway, Kazakhstan, Oman, Peru and Angola, as observer members.
Among the topics to be discussed during this 21st Meeting are: The presentation of the management reports of the Board and the Secretariat; The global gas outlook of the 2019 Edition Forum, the annual short-term gas market report and the annual statistical bulletin of the 2019 Edition Forum.
Likewise, during the development of this meeting, the balance of the preparations for the 5th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the GECF will be offered to be held next November in Malabo, capital of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
It should be remembered that the GECF is an international governmental organization for the exchange of experiences and information among the main exporting countries, in order to guarantee energy security, with special emphasis on the stability of natural gas supply.
The leadership that Venezuela assumes in this meeting is a sign of the recognition of the world to the Bolivarian Government led by President Nicolás Maduro who continues with the strengthening of strategic relations in order to promote cooperation, mutual respect and complementarity among the peoples of the world.
