FANB intercepted US intelligence aircraft in Venezuelan territory

The Integral Aerospace Defense Command System (CODAI) of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) intercepted an intelligence aircraft belonging to the United States (US) flying over Venezuelan territory on Friday, thereby violating international treaties:
“The CODAI Aerospace Defense System has detected and intercepted US aircraft. EP-3E of intelligence and electronic radio exploration in our Maiquetia flight information region, violating International Air Treaties in a frank provocation to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”, informed the Operational Strategic Command of the FANB (CEOFANB), in its account in the Twitter social network.
In this regard, the Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, said that the aircraft, which responds to the name EP-3E ARIES II, was immediately expelled from Venezuelan territory.
“Things like that happen almost every day in our seas, in our skies, in our borders. I think it is convenient for the people to know what our FANB does. Every action, every exercise of sovereignty that the Armed Forces do, we must inform the people of Venezuela, who gave us those weapons to assert our independence”, said Padrino López during the ceremony of the delegation of the military corps, which will participate in the International Military Games Russia 2019.
The detected aircraft has state-of-the-art equipment to enter and interfere with communications systems.
Faced with this new aggression, the FANB reiterated its commitment to defend Venezuela’s sovereignty and independence in the face of possible foreign military intervention.
“To the government of the United States of America, that day after day offends us: from the heart of the FANB we express to them that we have decided to always be free, independent and sovereign; Do understand that our great battle is for the peace and well-being of our people”, said the CEOFANB in another message on the social network.
For its part, the CODAI explained that this US aircraft entered the Maiquetía Terminal area, located in La Guaira state, “without complying with the regulations, putting at risk the safety of the commercial aircrafts that pass through it”.
“Enough of Provocation and threat by the US”, said the military body in its Twitter account.
The latest violation to Venezuelan territory, was registered last May, when a US vessel, which was transiting near the port of La Guaira, was expelled from territorial waters a day after it was detected its transit through a Venezuelan exclusive economic zone. .
