The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed to the Council of Defense and National Security installed on Tuesday, that social programs should be the front of defense to stop the economic and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States (USA):
“We must advance in all the plans that have to do with the maximum social protection of our people, work, income of our people, health, public education, housing for our people, the greatest amount of social protection, fundamental because it is the front that we must defeat the blockade”, said the head of state from Miraflores Palace in Caracas.
He emphasized on the need to reinvigorate national production to overcome the trade blockade, which has seized more than 30,000 million dollars that would be invested in the purchase of medicines and food to meet the needs of the people:
“Obligatory goal: to produce all the rice, all the grains, the white corn, the milk, the chicken, to produce it here and to overcome the commercial, food blockade imposed by the gringo imperialism. How is it overcome? With national production”, he said.
