Venezuela participated in debate on Mining, Energy and Biological Diversity

As part of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 14-CBD), which takes place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in the meeting of the mega-diverse countries on Thursday.

The Minister for Ecosocialism, Heryck Rangel, present at the meeting on behalf of Venezuela informed through Twitter that he took part in the discussion table “Mining, Energy and Biological Diversity”, in which the nation exposed its potentialities in this sense as It is part of the 20 countries that own 70% of the planet’s biodiversity.

Venezuela reaffirmed in the High Level Segment of the Conference of COP 14-CBD the commitment of the National Government to consolidate policies on the conservation of biological diversity.

The COP 14-CDB, whose installation was held on Wednesday, will be held until November 15, with the purpose of presenting the second work program of the Intergovernmental Scientific Platform, regulations on biological diversity and ecosystem services, as well as strategic long-term orientations for the vision of Biological Diversity by 2050.

The conference brings together all the leaders of the world committed to the vanguard of preserving life on the planet, to call for increased efforts to stop the deterioration of ecosystems and thus protect the planet’s biological system, which provides water and alimentation for millions of people.
