Venezuela prepares for the 2018 World Trade Fair in Shanghai

From November 5 to 10, will be held the World Trade Fair in Shanghai, China, where the Asian country will offer business opportunities for more than 20 billion dollars in purchases of goods and services.

Venezuela will be present at this event with a delegation of 500 public and private exporters, as informed on September 20 the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, from Miraflores Palace.

On that occasion, the Head of State reiterated the call he made to Venezuelan public and private companies during his visit to Beijing, China, to participate in the World Trade Fair.

“My call is to the whole Venezuela, we are going to connect with the World Trade Fair in Shanghai, it is the next step on the path to building successful, virtuous and victorious relations with China”, said the national President.

In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Trade and International Investment, Yomana Koteich, said that there is a market for the export of services, which is vital, that we have not looked at, not only tourism, we have potentials in port matters”.

She added that 185 people will participate in the Venezuelan delegation that will attend the event.

The holder of the foreign trade portfolio asked “all the substantive and productive units of the country to join this effort. The 2018 World Trade Fair in Shanghai will allow us to show Venezuela its position in the world’s main reserves. We want to consolidate the union, the productive, we will be very successful. This is the way to start a process of opening foreign trade with all the benefits”, she said.

The World Trade Fair is the largest trade fair in the world where several countries participate to exhibit their productive offers for export.

China has 1.4 billion inhabitants and the largest and most powerful domestic market, in which Venezuela is articulated and which has consolidated its financial relations after the 28 agreements signed by the Venezuelan delegation with representatives of the People’s Republic of China, after the visit of the Head of State to the Asian country in September, as part of the strengthening of the Program for Economic Recovery, Growth and Prosperity.
