Venezuela and the UN strengthen ties of cooperation in the field of social management

The United Nations (UN) and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, evaluated mechanisms to strengthen and expand ties of cooperation in the field of social management, as reported on Wednesday the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.

“We had a fruitful meeting with the representatives of the United Nations System for the development of the 2030 agenda”, she said.

She indicated that the meeting was framed in the struggle for the right to peace and development of the peoples, subjects incorporated in the Homeland Plan. Also, everything related to the social protection system was evaluated and experiences were shared regarding the results of the Program for Economic Recovery, Growth and Prosperity, which was cataloged by Rodriguez as “positive for Venezuela”.

Likewise, the International Organization for Migration was asked to intercede with their good offices, before the governments that impede the procedures related to the execution of the air bridge, which the State conducts in order to repatriate those Venezuelans who are in other countries under difficult conditions, through the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, stressed that these meetings will be held once a month “in order to evaluate, adjust and update” various areas of cooperation.
