Media campaign against Venezuela seeks to end the integration of the continent

The Chairman of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, denounced on Tuesday that the media campaign against Venezuela – in matters of migration – aims to put an end to the integration organizations in the continent.

During a session at the Legislative Palace, Cabello said that the meetings of the so-called Lima Group – made up of right-wing countries which are critical of the Bolivarian Revolution – seek to revive the Andean Community of Nations (CAN), of which Venezuela is no longer part since 2006, by decision of the commander Hugo Chávez.

They want to “revive the Andean Community of Nations and, like zombies, they have risen because they want to kill CELAC, ALBA, UNASUR and thus make the CAN reborn”, said Cabello.

In this sense, he indicated that behind this media campaign is the Government of the United States (USA), which since the arrival of Donald Trump to power has taken root in his war against the revolutionary process, promoted by Commander Chávez.

“The enemy here is imperialism, none of this would be happening if imperialism were not getting their hands in Latin America”, he said.

In this regard, he urged the People’s Power to strengthen unity and support the measures taken by the National Executive framed in the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan, which aims to support Venezuelans who emigrated but, after encountering an adverse reality in other nations, wish to return to Venezuela, with the premise of studying, working and contributing to the socio-economic prosperity of the country.

“This is not a moment of doubt, it is a moment of national unity,” he urged.
