Private sector bets on tourism: 228 tour operators present at Fitven 2017

The 12th edition of the International Tourism Fair of Venezuela (Fitven) 2017 this year has the participation of 228 providers of tourism services, 48 international and 94 national ones, in this last line highlights the participation of the national private sector.

The information was offered by the Minister for Tourism, Marleny Contreras, during an interview in the “Via Alterna” (Alternate Way) program, broadcast by the RNV Informative channel, where she highlighted the confidence of the national private business in this event that aims to position Venezuela in the local market and international.

83% of national tourism service providers present at this event come from the private sector, while 11% are corporations with public and private capital, said Contreras, who did not hesitate to describe the participation of private capital as a success.

This event also highlights the participation of 22 nations in the Business Roundtable, Symposia and International Pavilion, such as Saudi Arabia, China, Indonesia, Guatemala, Ecuador, Cuba, India, Syria, Palestine, Costa Rica and Mexico, as well as hotel chains from the United States and Spain, which will show their tourism potential from this Friday until November 26.

The fair is organized by services: hotels, inns, food and beverages, theme parks, airlines, tourist transport and travel agencies. Sixteen countries out of the 22 participating in this event are in the International Pavilion, a space where national and international products and services will be exhibited, she said.
