Maduro responded to interventionist statements by Trump and Rajoy

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said that the effort to which the Government should be oriented is the national anti-imperialist union, and work to achieve the victory of the country.

“Against the aggression of Trump and Mariano Rajoy: National union, national dignity, national rejection, Bolivarian and Chavista anti-imperialism in the streets, mobilization of the consciousness. But let’s not get ourselves distracted, let’s not waste time in the national effort that must be done”, ordered the Head of State during the ceremony for the start of the winter harvest cycle 2017, from Portuguesa state.

The Venezuelan President made reference to statements made on Tuesday by US President Dolnald Trump and Spain’s Mariano Rajoy following a meeting in Washington in which they referred to Venezuela.

“When they go to the press conference, instead of talking about the relations between the two countries they start talking about Venezuela. What is this?. I begin to think why the obsession of the world’s right wing with our Homeland. Why Mariano Rajoy has to go talking about Venezuela in the White House?, May he speak of the problems of the USA with Europe, but he can forget to mention Venezuela, which is a Homeland of dignity”, he said.

He rejected and repudiated the “rude” interventionist statements by both leaders against the Bolivarian Venezuela, and described this attitude as an obsession.

Trump’s double contradiction:

He asserted that the US President is poorly advised on Venezuela, and assured that the idea promoted by Trump on a “socialist dictatorship” in Venezuela, is a contradiction in its own concept.

“Who told Mr. Donald Trump, who convinced him of that in Venezuela there was a dictatorship?. It is a historical error to pretend to qualify Venezuela as a socialist dictatorship, it is a double contradiction”, he said.

He pointed out that Venezuela is a democratic, free, republican country, where the rule of law and justice prevails, with a people taking a leading role in political processes. He recalled that in the country have been held 22 elections in 18 years.

He also reaffirmed that there cannot be a dictatorship in socialism: “Only in capitalism is it possible to establish dictatorships. Socialism is the system of the democracy of the People, for the people and with the people … it is impossible, in the construction of socialism, to establish a dictatorship, because a dictatorship is established by an economic, political and military elite that establishes its interests, their power, who imposes them on the rest of society”.

He recalled that the dictatorships that have been in Latin America have been sponsored by the United States.

The Venezuelan Head of State assured that these statements, these attacks, seek to provoke destabilization so that Venezuela does not achieve its growth and development, to lose the center of the national effort in the construction of the economic, political, educational, cultural, and social scopes.

Finally, he urged the people to punish the stateless attitude of the opposition leaders in the regional elections to be held on October 15.
