President Maduro reiterated call to stabilize oil prices


The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated the call to set a date for a meeting of Heads of States of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-OPEC, in order to stabilize the world´s oil market.

“I continue to state very clearly, that we the Heads of State and Government of all Opec and non-OPEC countries have to meet. It is an approach that I have sent with a special letter with the first elements and components of the new formula to rule the market and prices”, stressed the Head of State during the broadcast of the radio program, “La Hora de la Salsa” (The Salsa Hour), broadcast by Radio Miraflores.

Regarding the tour by oil-producing countries made by the Chancellor of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez and the Minister for Oil, Nelson Martínez, indicated that “I have continued to ratify the proposal that I have made through this tour of the Chancellor and the Minister for oil, with a personal letter to the Heads of State and Government of OPEC and non OPEC countries. It is necessary to set a date for this historic summit, because I believe it is the next step that we have to take. ”

In that sense, he pointed out that the stability of the oil market can continue to guarantee investment in crude oil production, contribute to the country’s productive development, defend the salary, generate employment and continue to carry out and expand social investment.
