The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged on Sunday the Local Committees for Supply and Production (CLAP) to promote socio-productive projects in their communities.
During his program «Los Domingos con Maduro» (Sundays with Maduro), broadcast from the San José parish in Caracas, the President stressed that «CLAP are not only about distribution» but «It has primarily to be production.»
He said the CLAPs should increasingly become productive instances of a new productive culture. «We have to go with force into urban, peri-urban agriculture, we have to go with force», he expressed.
In that sense, he appointed the Executive Vice President, Tarek El Aissami, to hold a video conference with the CLAP General Staff on Tuesday 24, to explain the new methods of distribution and the goal of serving six million families.
«Before March 12 we have to reach the (figure of) six million homes served by the Revolution,» he reiterated.
