Venezuela and the UN evaluated mechanisms to procure medicines at affordable prices


On Thursday, the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations in Venezuela, where were strengthened cooperation plans in order to deepen the national model of Human Rights and evaluate the demand for medicines at affordable prices for the population.
“We have set up a coordination and technical committee in order to advance in the different areas of the Human Rights model in Venezuela, so that it can be consolidated and strengthened, in a responsible way, we are working for the country,” expressed Rodríguez.
She said that was jointly evaluated the demand for affordable medicines for countries in the region, including Venezuela.
“We have made use of these mechanisms for the supply of medicines for our population, and even, we will expand this cooperation, so through the strategic fund that already exists and, through a rotating fund, purchase medicines in different areas that may even improve the supply of medicines in our country”.
At the meeting were also present representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
