Maduro highlights need to refound the United Nations system


After receiving the pro-tempore Presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, expressed the need to refound the United Nations Organization (UN).
“There has been talks about a reform, we think of the Refoundation of the UN system,” he said during his speech.
In what he called the Commitment of Margarita, Maduro stressed the need “To accelerate the process of transforming the UN system to achieve its true democratization, the enlargement of the Security Council with the participation of major emerging powers of the South, and the democratization of the systems of management, governance and decision-making “of the agency.
