The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, said this Wednesday that to study the thought and life of Commander Hugo Chavez, it is to reaffirm loyalty to the Revolutionary process built in 17 years which currently is being attacked by the national and international right wing.
“To study Chavez, to think about Chavez, to cross him in his testimony is, above all, an act of reaffirmation of loyalty that has brought us to this historic battle and it will bring us to build the clear roads of victory on the horizon of our Homeland” said the Head of State in statements broadcast by VTV from the Ríos Reyna Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, where it was baptized the book “Hugo Chavez and the destiny of a People”, of author Germán Sánchez Otero.
“We are in the center of the hurricane of a historic battle against imperialism, and that should fill us with pride. Because if we, should I had betrayed the project of Chavez, I would be in the center of the flattery of the US imperialism, and not amidst the center of the attacks”, added the National President.
The President highlighted the research work done by Sanchez Otero, former ambassador of Cuba in Venezuela from 1994 to 2009, who showed in more than 70 interviews, the life of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution and his struggle for building socialism in the country .
“This is the biography of the living Chavez, the Chavez who fought and still fights in his testimony, in his example, in his thought”, stressed the President, while manifesting that in the literary work, written in the period of Chavez from 1999 to February 2003, are reflected the core values of the socialist leader for the construction of a new Homeland.
“These testimonies collect the life of an extraordinary person, that with his example, demands us every to coherence, among the thought, the values and action, to a lifelong perseverance in the pursuit of the goals of the great revolutionary transformation of our Homeland, to the passion, the effort, the sacrifice”, he said.
