In the early hours of Saturday, the Chancellor of the Republic, Delcy Rodriguez, expressed her rejection to the statements of the Foreign Minister of Paraguay against Venezuela.
“The statements by the Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga confirm not only his political intolerance, but his ethical level as an official through his threats against the homeland of Simon Bolivar,” wrote Rodriguez in her account of the Twitter social network, @DrodríguezVen.
Eladio Loizaga said this Friday that his Government had decided to freeze the diplomatic relations with Venezuela, due to his “disagreement” with the pro-tempore presidency exerted by Caracas in the Southern Common Market (Mercosur).
In statements to a local radio station, Loizaga said that Paraguay will not attend any meeting of Mercosur which is convened by Caracas, while at the same time summoned to their ambassador in Venezuela, Enrique Jara, and will keep him in Asuncion as long as the freezing of relations remains, as quoted the Paraguayan newspaper “Hoy”.
Weeks ago, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, denounced that the Governments of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay have built a new “Triple Alliance” of extreme right wing, against the Venezuelan presidency of Mercosur, in a strategy dictated from Washington.
