The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, presented the 2026 Project of Budget Bill to the National Assembly, revealing an 8% growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) despite the context of international aggression against the country.

During last Thursday’s parliamentary session, the Vice President for Economy and Finance also presented the national economic report and the Project of Special Law of Indebtment for the next fiscal year.

Rodríguez asserted that «Venezuela does not submit or subordinate itself. It is emancipated,» when presenting a budget in a context of external siege.

«We are presenting this budget in a special situation (…) Venezuela, which is besieged, threatened, and attacked like never before,» declared the high-ranking official, who emphasized that it is «a positive balance for Venezuela, which does not stop» in the face of interventionism.

Among the highlighted economic data, Vice President Rodríguez specified a 6% growth in animal production, with increases of 13% in chicken and 3% in pork.

In the agricultural sector, key crops grew by 8%, with yellow corn showing a 52% increase and Paddy rice a 17% increase.

In the mining sector, gold production showed significant strengthening thanks to public-private partnerships.

Between January and September 2025, state-owned plants increased their production by 97.6%, while the private sector grew by 41% compared to the same period in 2024.

The presentation of the 2026 budget is carried out in compliance with Article 312 of the Venezuelan Constitution.

The document reflects the national government’s economic strategy in the face of what it describes as unilateral coercive measures, prioritizing productive sectors considered key to food sovereignty and development. The executive branch is using the budget presentation process to showcase indicators of economic growth and reaffirm its narrative of resilience in the face of international pressure, combining technical data with a discourse of national sovereignty.
