The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, inaugurated the Expo “Children in Space: Journey to the Solar System” this Tuesday, an educational display conceived as a Christmas gift for Venezuelan families.
The exhibition, presented on the afternoon of December 2, aims to introduce the nation’s youth to scientific and technological knowledge through interactive and recreational experiences. In this regard, the President emphasized that it is one of the most technologically advanced exhibitions of its kind globally.
It is worth noting that during the opening ceremony, the Head of State explained that visitors “will be able to enjoy riding in a rocket, go to the Moon, go to Mars, and learn how the Universe was formed.” This initiative is part of the national government’s policy of democratizing knowledge.
He also compared this new exhibition to previous successful displays, such as the Expo “Simón: From Child to Liberator,» which received more than 1,300,000 visitors. Furthermore, he emphasized the value of scientific outreach and appreciation of the planet, stating that «the most beautiful thing in the Universe is our planet Earth,» and more specifically, Venezuela.
Additionally, the exhibition was described by the President as «unique in the world» and will be open to the general public starting Friday, December 5, 2025. Finally, the event concluded with the official inauguration of what he called a space dedicated to children and families to experience a «happy and peaceful Christmas.»
Ultimately, this exhibition represents an institutional effort to merge education, technology, and recreation during the Christmas season, promoting scientific interest among new generations.
