Dr. Jorge Rodríguez: Venezuelan airspace is the direct jurisdiction of the Bolivarian Government

The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, affirmed that Venezuelan airspace «is the direct jurisdiction of the Bolivarian Government.» The parliamentarian referred to the measures adopted in defense of national sovereignty, noting that official actions have already been implemented through public statements.

Rodríguez denounced that the airspace restrictions constitute a direct action by the United States government, supported by opposition leader María Corina Machado: «Those people sleeping there at Barajas Airport (in Madrid, Spain) should remember that it was María Corina Machado who requested these kinds of actions,» expressed the legislator.

The President of the Venezuelan Parliament described these measures as «illegitimate and illegal,» in accordance with the official communiqué by the Bolivarian government. His statement comes in response to recent tensions regarding air sovereignty and accusations of foreign interference in national affairs.

Rodríguez also warned about the spread of fake news in the media concerning an alleged closure of Venezuelan airspace. The relevant authorities have formally denied this information, reaffirming national control over the airspace. In this context, the parliamentarian emphasized that «the truth about Venezuela and peace is in the streets and is incontrovertible.»

His statement underscores the popular legitimacy of the Bolivarian government in the face of what he described as disinformation campaigns and interventionist actions. These statements come amidst an operation ordered by President Nicolás Maduro to strengthen the defense of national sovereignty, reaffirming the exclusive control of the Venezuelan State over its airspace as a matter of constitutional principle and national sovereignty.
