The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that the essence of the Bolivarian Revolution is the transfer of power to the grassroots. Through his channel on Telegram, the President stated that the fundamental objective is to build a new institutional framework from the communities and the territory.
President Maduro highlighted the Communes as the highest concrete expression of this principle of building a new power: «In the Revolution, power circulates, matures, and becomes useful in the hands of the conscious and organized people,» he affirmed in his digital message, underscoring the participatory dynamic of the model.
The Head of State emphasized the vision that each commune must transform into a self-sustaining, productive territory. According to his proposal, these units must be capable of sustaining their local economy, guaranteeing food for their people, and building a dignified life without depending on external factors.
The President contrasted this model with traditional democratic systems, stating that in Venezuela democracy «is no longer sporadic and subject to the whims of empty promises.» Instead, he described it as a daily method for the people to exercise power and solve concrete problems.
The President called upon organized popular power to resolutely defend Venezuelan democracy. He urged the protection of this system, which he described as an authentic method of social transformation, where power truly resides in the hands of ordinary people.
