In a meeting held this Thursday, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the United Nations (UN) agreed to strengthen their cooperation ties, with the firm purpose of advancing the consolidation of peace and respect for sovereignty in the region.
The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, was responsible for reporting on the meeting held with the UN Resident Coordinator in Venezuela, Gianluca Rampolla.
Through his official channel on Telegram, the minister highlighted that the dialogue aimed to “strengthen our cooperation, based on respect for sovereignty and the leadership of the organized Venezuelan people.”
During the meeting, the head of the Venezuelan Chancellory reiterated the country’s concern regarding the military threats currently affecting the Caribbean region. In this regard, Chancellor Gil emphasized the urgent need for the United Nations system to adopt a firm and unified stance in defense of Latin America as a Zone of Peace, as proclaimed by regional organizations.
Likewise, he stressed the imperative need for all member states to respect the principles established in the Charter of the United Nations.
This dialogue is framed within the Venezuelan State’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to consolidate and deepen cooperative relations with key multilateral organizations. The meeting reaffirms Venezuela’s active commitment to regional peace and the unwavering defense of its national sovereignty.
The meeting between Chancellor Yván Gil and the UN high officer Gianluca Rampolla reinforces the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation, highlighting the essential role of diplomacy in building a secure regional environment and promoting an international order based on sovereignty, fairness, and mutual respect.
