As a prelude to the grand premiere gala of the «Nicolás, from Yare to Miraflores» series, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, surprised the people of Caracas in the Plaza Bolívar (Bolivar Square) this Saturday, November 22.
The heartwarming encounter took place while the crowd awaited the start of the series screening in the Plaza Bolívar. There, women, men, children, and young people marked the moment with hugs, smiles, and gestures of affection, in an emotional and intimate moment between the President and the people of the capital.
At the premiere of “Nicolás, from Yare to Miraflores” and this presidential surprise, the head of state was accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Cilia Flores de Maduro, with whom he proceeded minutes later to the Principal Theater for the national and international premiere of the eight new episodes of the biographical series.
This audiovisual work was produced by young Venezuelans grouped in the “Artists for the Future” collective and was presented as a birthday gift to the President on Sunday, November 23.
The series, which has also been screened in community venues as part of a traveling tour, is a biography that explores the origins of the constitutional president as a union leader and his trajectory in the revolutionary political struggle.
The 10-episode series (eight of which are new) details his connection to the Commander of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, including the period when Chávez was detained in the Dignity Prison in Yare in the early 1990s.
At the conclusion of the series screening, President Nicolás Maduro, along with First Lady Cilia Flores, spoke about the excellence of the work and how it managed to capture the essence of emblematic moments in his journey through the Bolivarian Revolution.
The President emphasized the importance of continuing to bring this audiovisual work to every corner of the country, as it represents the history of a Bolivarian Revolution that is more alive than ever.
