Various regions of Venezuela participated this weekend in military maneuvers of the Independencia 200 (Independence 200) Plan, articulating the People’s Power with military and police forces. These exercises aim to strengthen territorial defense and patriotic awareness through an integral protection strategy.
From the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Air Base in Caracas, Major General José Figuera Valdez reported on the execution of maneuvers in perfect popular-military-police integration. An integrated aerospace defense system was activated to «prevent the establishment of an air base or any enemy position on the Venezuelan territory.»
In Bolívar State, ZODI No. 62 reinforced the maneuvers with an emphasis on the protection of ports and airports. Military personnel highlighted the protection of Manuel Carlos Piar International Airport and Lieutenant Colonel Teófilo Méndez Air Base as strategic objectives of this deployment.
La Guaira was another key location with the deployment of equipment from the Third Marine Infantry Brigade G/B Manuela Sáenz. Operations included securing Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía and implementing tactics for the defense of this coastal state.
In Miranda state, members of the ZODI (Operational Zone of Integral Defense) carried out missions from Higuerote Airport. Officials of the FANB (National Bolivarian Armed Forces) in the Brión municipality confirmed that they deployed «to the fullest extent with all available resources and equipment, to continue preparing to preserve national peace.»
Completing this national deployment, Carabobo joined the efforts along the state’s coastal axis. Military personnel highlighted the seamless integration of civilian, military, and police forces at General Bartolomé Salom Airport, reaffirming their commitment to guaranteeing the sovereignty and independence of Venezuelan territory.
