In a massive event held in the Petare parish of Miranda state, President Nicolás Maduro swore in more than 230,000 members of Bolivarian Committees of Integral Base (CBBI) this Saturday. This new structure, according to Maduro, represents a crucial step for the organization of the People’s Power.

The journey, which began with a march from Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park to the Great Wall of Petare, focused on formalizing these new grassroots organizations. The president announced that, in just eight days, 235,000 CBBI have been established nationwide, which he described as a leap from the old street-level leadership to integral work teams:

“Today November 15th have been born the Bolivarian Committees of Integral Base of the People of Venezuela!” proclaimed President Maduro before a crowd that included the governor of Miranda state, Elio Serrano, and other leaders.

Functions and Objectives of the CBBI:

During his speech, the Head of State outlined the three main tasks that the newly created committees must fulfill:

– Consolidation and Census: The first task is to consolidate the team in each street, identifying supporters and families to establish an effective “work circle.”

– Defense of Peace: Secondly, he emphasized the need to prepare for the “total defense” of the communities, but with “a single slogan: peace, peace, and more peace.”

– Support for Communes: The third objective is to support the creation of Communes and the strengthening of communal councils throughout the country.

The President emphasized that these new institutions will serve as a «bulwark» to protect Venezuela’s independence, peace, integrity, and freedom.

As part of this organizational effort, he urged support for the fourth National People’s Consultation, scheduled for November 23. In this consultation, two projects per community will be democratically selected for immediate funding and implementation.

The goal, he noted, is to work on more than 10,700 new projects planned by the people, with the aim of «ending 2025 with a popular victory.» He stressed the importance of ensuring that the most voted-for projects receive the necessary funding promptly for the direct benefit of the communities.

With the swearing-in of the CBBI, the National Government seeks to renew and strengthen its grassroots structure, consolidating what it called «the largest and most powerful political organization that has ever existed in the country.»
