As part of the launch of the Superior Phase of Plan Independence 200, the Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security, and Peace, Vladimir Padrino López, announced on Tuesday the deployment of approximately 200,000 members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) throughout the entire national territory.
The Minister of People’s Power for Defense also emphasized that this military exercise, ordered by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, represents an increase of the operational level: «Nearly 200,000 troops have been deployed throughout the entire national territory for this exercise,» stated Padrino López, highlighting that all the Bodies of Direction for the Integral Defense (ODDI) have been established in the country.
During his assessment, the General-in-Chief emphasized that the work of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) continues without pause, in unison with the people, to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity: «In here no one has said to pause; the work of unity, of preparing the people, as well as the enhancement of the operational readiness of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces continue,» he affirmed.
Likewise, the sectoral Vice President insisted on that preparations remain active to defend the homeland against any threat. He noted that various scenarios are studied daily with the Superior High Command, referring to a «threat that remains positioned in the Caribbean.» Given this, the massive deployment of personnel is part of an integral exercise of Command, Control, and Communications.
Padrino López emphasized the constant optimization of defense maneuvers on air, land, and sea, and concluded by stressing the unity between the Government, the people, and the military in the defense of the nation: «We work hard every day, the government, the people, the militia, all united in defense of our nation,» he concluded.
