Minister Padrino López reaffirms FANB’s commitment to peace and sovereignty

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) maintain a state of full alert and operational readiness, in conjunction with the People’s Power, to defend the integrity and peace of the nation. This deployment is part of the Seven Transformations (7T) plan, outlined by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, as stated by the Sectoral Vice President for Defense and Sovereignty, General Vladimir Padrino López.

From his office, the Minister of Defense also emphasized that the FANB supports the Bolivarian Government in deepening a new, diversified, and post-rentier economic model. This effort aims to confront the blockade and criminal persecution that, he affirmed, U.S. imperialism is perpetrating against the Venezuelan economy. Despite these actions, he emphasized that Venezuelans are making decisive progress toward the social and political transformation of the country:

“While they export chaos and double standards, Venezuela is building its own future, in peace and with dignity, and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces are the guarantor of this progress,” emphatically stated Padrino López. He stressed that the military institution maintains a high level of cohesion and preparedness to fulfill this fundamental role.

The high-ranking military officer detailed some of the specific actions the FANB is carrying out as part of this national effort. Among them, he mentioned the consolidation of the Communal Militia Units (UCM), the protection of the environment through the eradication of illegal mining activities, and the expulsion of armed terrorist and drug trafficking groups attempting to operate in Venezuelan territory. As a result of these operations, 414 aircraft belonging to drug trafficking organizations have been neutralized since 2012.

Internationally, Padrino López reiterated the FANB’s support for the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace promoted by Venezuela. This struggle, he explained, seeks to uphold the right of peoples to be free and dignified, strengthening Latin American and Caribbean unity in the face of what he described as imperialist warmongering.

The Minister also recalled the armed forces’ support of the people during the assemblies of the fourth Popular Consultation, ordered by President Maduro. He announced that the FANB is ready to support the development of the voting on November 23rd, in order to continue strengthening the democratic, revolutionary model and direct, participatory, and protagonistic democracy.

“So we continue preparing, in perfect cohesion, in popular, military, and police unity, to defend peace under any circumstances. We continue working, we never stop. There is plenty of work to do, so let’s go forward!” concluded General Padrino López, reaffirming the FANB’s unwavering commitment to the stability and future of the nation.
