United Socialist Party of Venezuela is the solid vanguard of the Bolivarian Revolution

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, actively participated in the deliberations of the 5th Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the 4th Congress of the Socialist Youth. The head of state emphasized that this party, created by Commander Hugo Chávez, constitutes «the solid vanguard of the Bolivarian Revolution.»

During his address, he stressed that this congress allows the party to «look at itself with courage» in order to collectively define future lines of action. He underscored that these actions must correspond to the philosophy, ideology, and historical roots of the movement, facing current challenges with victory.

At the Bolívar Theater in Caracas, with more than three thousand delegates present, the president received the report of the plenary from Secretary General Diosdado Cabello. Cabello, when opening the plenary session, highlighted the leading role and revolutionary discipline that have guided the party throughout its history.

The Secretary General reaffirmed the «unwavering commitment to the people and the Constitution,» recalling the party’s consecutive electoral victories leading up to the Presidency of the Republic. He described these victories as a resounding demonstration of the legitimacy and popular support backing the country’s leadership.

Cabello also emphasized the success of the internal method for selecting candidates, describing it as a demonstration of the direct democracy that characterizes Bolivarianism. The convening of the plenary session is part of the party’s ongoing efforts to undertake the vital tasks of the Revolution.

Finally, he emphasized the institutional consolidation of the Republic, asserting that Venezuela has a complete and updated government structure established through constitutional processes. This congress marks a milestone in the reaffirmation of the PSUV as the leading force of the Bolivarian process.
