The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, urged national sectors to intensify their dissemination of the country’s reality to the U.S. citizens. During the Meeting of the National Council for the Defense of Sovereignty and Peace, held at the Teresa Carreño Theater (Caracas), he emphasized the need to convey the nation’s message of peace and willingness to engage in dialogue.
He also questioned the position of international authorities who, in his view, maintain an anachronistic view of hemispheric relations. Speaking before representatives of the fishing, university, business, and community sectors, the head of state emphasized Venezuela’s rejection of any armed conflict in the Caribbean and South American regions.
In the economic sphere, he highlighted the growth of the national Gross Domestic Product, which is projected to close the year at approximately $150 billion. This figure exceeds the records of the 2010-2012 term, achieving it with just 20% of the oil revenues from that term, as he stated during his speech.
Later, President Maduro also announced the start of the delivery of 20,000 completed community projects, scheduled for next Monday. These projects include sports, educational, health, and road infrastructure, distributed throughout the various community circuits across the country.
The meeting was attended by various social, political, and economic representatives, who reaffirmed their commitment to sovereignty and national development. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining unity in the face of hegemonic visions that seek to impose models alien to Venezuelan national identity.
