Was installed in Caracas National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, International Communities Chapter

The President of the National Assembly, Representative Jorge Rodríguez, in his capacity as Head of Dialogue and Peace of Venezuela, officially installed the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, on its International Communities Chapter. The event took place in Caracas with the participation of diplomatic representatives from twenty-five nations.

During his speech, Representative Rodríguez, who also serves as the Council’s Secretary, emphasized the diverse nature that defines the Venezuelan nation. He emphasized that this cultural diversity is represented in the international communities that reside in the country and attended the meeting, reflecting the spirit of inclusion that characterizes Venezuela.

The parliamentarian underscored Venezuela’s historical tradition as a land of welcome. «Venezuela has always welcomed anyone who considers making this their second or primary homeland,» stated Representative Rodríguez during his inaugural speech.

During his remarks, he recalled the significant migratory flows received over more than a century. He specifically mentioned the reception of millions of people from Europe in the post-war period, as well as hundreds of thousands of citizens from the region of the former Turkish empire, along with communities of diverse religious denominations and cultural systems.

The establishment of this chapter of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace represents an initiative aimed at strengthening dialogue and coexistence with the international communities based in Venezuelan territory, reaffirming the principles of peace and sovereignty that guide the Republic’s foreign policy.
