National Government investigates those responsible for «false flag» operation against U.S. embassy

The national government has identified those responsible for a «false flag» operation that sought to plant explosives at the United States (US) embassy in the country. This was confirmed by President Nicolás Maduro during his «Con Maduro+» program.

The head of state indicated that security and intelligence agencies have identified those involved. He assured that the United States government already has all the detailed information, including names, surnames, and the movements of the suspects within Venezuela:

«This afternoon, Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, in charge of the Peace Dialogue processes in Venezuela, has also reported to the United States government on those responsible for these terrorist actions (…), through the mechanisms we have, he has the information, names, surnames, meeting time, what and where they discussed,» he explained.

He emphasized that, despite political differences, security measures at the US embassy were strengthened. He stressed that the embassy is protected in accordance with the Geneva Agreement and international law.

In his statements, President Maduro described the incident as a typical provocation operation. His objective was to create a media scandal to blame the Bolivarian Government and escalate the confrontation between the two nations.

The President asked: «Who would benefit from this terrorist act?» He revealed that the investigations indicate that the act was requested and endorsed by a person whose identity will be revealed as the investigation progresses, which remains active in order to capture those responsible.
