Through his official channel on Telegram, President Nicolás Maduro released a message in which he stated: «Our priority is to safeguard sovereignty. Venezuela is a country of peace, and that is why we are getting prepared: operational readiness and mobilization exercises are being organized for the integral defense of the homeland.» The president added that the citizen will to defend the nation has been amply demonstrated.
