The National Council for Sovereignty and Peace of Venezuela took a crucial step in its strategy of a Bolivarian diplomacy of peace by meeting with the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the country. This meeting, led by the Secretary of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, Jorge Rodríguez, stresses the Venezuelan government’s commitment to international dialogue and the nation’s sovereign position.
A space for inclusion and promotion of initiatives, the central objective of which is to consolidate a space without exclusions that serves to promote and defend Venezuela’s peace and sovereignty in the global context.
The broad national participation of this commission has actively worked on its internal structure, including the establishment of sectoral sovereignty and peace councils. These councils have achieved interaction with a broad representation of the Venezuelan society, ensuring a broad basis for their decisions and proposals.
Dialogues with various national sectors have demonstrated inclusion as a fundamental pillar. Meetings have been held with a variety of key stakeholders: cultural, religious, academic, business, and labor sectors. Additionally, community councils and a large majority of the political platform have been consulted, specifically with 54 of the 56 parties accredited with the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The Council’s origin reflects a commitment to independence. This body was established on September 16th under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro. Upon its establishment, the dignatary reaffirmed Venezuela’s unwavering commitment to independence, freedom, justice, and, above all, to defending the country as a zone of peace against any external threat or interference.
The defense of peace and response to international threats has enabled the meeting with diplomats and is part of the strategy to project the nation’s voice, reinforcing the message that Venezuela is united in the defense of its self-determination.
Through dialogue and internal coordination, the Council seeks to defuse and respond to international threats, always prioritizing stability and peace.
