The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the beautiful mobilization and impressive patriotic fervor of the Venezuelan people. In a Telegram message, the president praised the coordination of citizens, militia members, and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in defense of peace and sovereignty.
Last September 23, the Bolivarian Militia was officially established as part of the strategic actions to strengthen the integral defense of the nation. The activity marked a milestone in the plan to strengthen the country’s defensive capabilities against external threats.
The streets of Caracas were filled with color and enthusiasm during a massive mobilization. The event demonstrated support for territorial defense policies and the firm commitment to civil-military unity, demonstrating a joint deployment in the capital.
President Maduro emphasized that this is an empowered people rallying together. He emphasized that the movement demonstrates the Venezuelans’ passion for their right to peace, self-determination, and national sovereignty against any interference.
This mobilization is in response to the call issued by the head of state last August. At that time, he called for mass enlistment in the Bolivarian National Militia to defend the homeland from the constant aggression of the United States (US).
The formal establishment of the militia and the massive popular participation reflect the Venezuelan government’s active defense strategy. The event symbolizes the unity of the people and the armed forces as a single bloc to protect national sovereignty.
