President Maduro: Venezuela will not abide by psychological warfare of the US

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, declared that his country “will not abide by the psychological warfare, blackmail, or threats from the United States” (US). The statement was made in response to a question from CNN en Español journalist Osmary Hernández about the possible shift from diplomatic channels to other measures.

During his remarks, the president emphasized that Venezuela “only works with words, with the truth.» He made it clear that pressure tactics will have no effect on his government’s stance regarding the complex bilateral relationship with the US administration.

In contrast, the head of state suggested the possibility of an open debate with his American counterpart. He proposed to discuss topics such as democracy, the economy, global models, and the right to peace, describing a possible meeting as fruitful, although he expressed skepticism about its materialization.

Regarding the limits that could escalate the situation between the two nations, the President clarified that «there are several limits, not just one.» He warned that in a process of this nature it is crucial to take care of the details and to be firmly prepared to calmly face any future scenario.

Under his motto of “acting with nerves of steel,» President Maduro asserted that the Venezuelan people have organized themselves and are making the most of their time. He affirmed that the nation has more «national power» and unity than in the past to preserve its independence under any circumstances.

In his final remarks, he concluded that “Venezuela is much stronger than yesterday,» but reiterated his desire for peace. He emphasized his government’s commitment to loving and preserving peace, calling it «the most beautiful asset there is,» even in the face of the possibility of having to resort to armed struggle to defend the country’s sovereignty.
